Background

The English Premier League (EPL) is undoubtedly the world's preeminent football league. The mantle of being the most watched league in the world requires attracting the best athletes and also paying the highest salaries.

As an ardent a fan of the league myself, my aim was to create a dashboard that would offer fellow fans and enthusiast a unique perspective on the business side of the game we love. The dashboard showcases the allocation of salaries by different teams and examines additional factors that may influence player remuneration.

Interesting Findings

• The traditional "Big 6" football clubs consisting of Arsenal, Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham account for 55% of the total salary of the entire league.
• Manchester United has 3 out of the 5 highest paid players in the league, namely: Cristiano Ronaldo, David De Gea and Jadon Sancho.
• Considering the nationality of players in the English Premier League, English players, on average, hold the 19th position in terms of the highest paid salaries.
